Sizing

Every number here is the maker’s own, with the garment laid flat. Measure something you already wear and compare.

How to measure

The maker measures each piece laid flat on a table, seam to seam. That means anything that wraps around you, like a chest or a waistband, is given as half of the way round. To compare, lay a piece you already own and like flat, measure it the same way, and choose the size with the closest numbers.

  • Length. Usually from the highest point of the shoulder, beside the collar, down to the hem.
  • Width. Usually straight across the chest, about an inch below the armpits, from seam to seam.
  • Sleeve length. From the shoulder seam to the end of the cuff.
  • Waistband and inseam. For trousers: the waistband laid flat and unstretched, and the inside leg from the crotch seam to the hem.

Measurements are the maker’s own and can vary by up to 2 inches (5 cm). For a looser fall, go up a size.
